Monday-Tuesday: These days I was grateful for feeling…
Proud, thrilled, and free beyond belief. I BOOKED THE COSTA RICA!!!!! The Spanish immersion, the flights, everything. I am at peak excitement, something I haven’t felt often. I can’t believe I did it. I’ll be there for a week in late November, surfing in the mornings, speaking Spanish all day, taking salsa and cooking lessons, building relationships with my host family and people from all over the world. I feel like I’ve dreamed it all but my bank account assures me it’s real. Taking a solo trip to somewhere foreign is something I always dreamed about but never thought I’d have the confidence or stability to do, especially once I got into a relationship. And I get to learn something on this one! This is what I went into CODA for, to be able to do my own thing whether Cubu will be at home with himself or not. What an astounding, personal victory. I have also finished 180 Spanish lessons since I began at the beginning of the year!!! I can speak and respond to simple sentences in an entirely different language!!! I told my CODA group and we celebrated it together.
Accomplished if not nervous after leading my first CODA security meeting. I taught everyone basic tools for security in zoom meetings and help get everyone on the same page with definitions, roles, and procedures. I feel like I’ve done a really good thing. There are now nine more people who know how to host a safe zoom conference. I did that. I didn’t even think I knew that much but my age and ability to putz around on different applications was enough I guess. I hope this works, that the training sticks and that everyone can have safer meetings from now on.
Excited after discovering a sport called roller hockey that’s near me! It’s floor hockey on rollerblades. I’m good on rollerblades and love activities that involve them other than “going forward”. I look forward to checking it out when volleyball’s fall season ends.
